BIKANER: Bikaner is almost
516 years old city in the North West part of Rajasthan(India) in the
heart of Great Indian Desert Thar. It is well connected by train and road
to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur and all major cities of India. Nearest
airport is Jodhpur ( 250 Kms. ). Delhi is 550 kms., Jaipur - 330kms.,
Jaisalmer - 330kms. and Udaipur is 600 kms. from Bikaner.

KAKU - An ideal destination to
explore the desert around Bikaner The village Kaku is almost 400
years old Jagir which was awarded to Shri Chandrabhan Singh ji Bidawat
Rathore who was extra ordinary warrior in the army of Shri Gaj Singh Ji -
King of Bikaner in the year 1630. Shri Chandrabhan Singh Ji sacrificed his
life in a battle in between Pushkar and Merta in the year 1641. Kaku was
an important fort in the old state times situated on the borders of
Bikaner and Jodhpur states and the brave Rajput rulers of this fort were
protecting the border from the attacks of Jodhpur state army.
KAKU CASTLE : The Kaku Castle
consists of 04 Double bedded rooms and 04
Double bedded huts with attached baths and all basic amenities. The castle
is surrounded by golden coloured sand dunes and old styled mud houses and
traditional huts.
How to Reach Kaku? The village is
80 kms. north west of Bikaner near Nokha Mandi on Bikaner - Jodhpur
highway. Buses for Nokha Mandi are available from Bikaner after every 15
minutes and every hour from Nokha Mandi (private bus stand ) to Kaku.
There is also a direct bus from Kaku to Jodhpur. While driving from
Bikaner to Kaku the world famous rat temple at Deshnoke can be
visited.
